The Observatory struck festival gold yet again with the lineup for Soulquarius, “an R&B jam” on Saturday, February 18. The lineup boasts heavy players in the R&B game, from long-established artists like Ja Rule & Ashanti, Brandy and Kelis to contemporary hip-hop crooners like BJ the Chicago Kid, Eric Bellinger, The Internet and Jhene Aiko.

The line up has to be one of the most iconic we’ve seen in years, with Erykah Badu and R. Kelly topping the bill as headliners, but the real game changer is the fact that young artists are getting to share the stage with R&B greats.
Among these fresh names are Willow Smith and Dreamville artist, Ari Lennox. Although neither are new to the stage, they are both rising artists that can definitely live up to this stacked lineup.
Soulquarius is currently slated as a single-day show, but with all the hype leading up to the festival here’s to hoping that the Observatory adds the R&B jam to their list of annual festivals.
