Within five days into the New Year, the hip-hop community is already expecting a violent brawl between Chris Brown and Soulja Boy. The beef surfaced when Soulja Boy tweeted about Brown’s jealousy of the “Crank That” rapper liking Karrueche Tran’s Instagram photos.
An ongoing battle of back-and-forth social media posts occurred between the two, including Soulja Boy throwing shots at Brown’s daughter Royalty. Eventually, the rapper who once said “Kiss Me Through the Phone” ended up kissing Brown’s ass with an apology, rationalizing his actions by his mother being in the hospital.

“I found out that my mom’s in the hospital. The doctors told me everything should be alright, she should be good, but no amount of money, no amount of cars, no amount of fame will make me be alright knowing my mom is sick or anything happening to my momma.”
This statement is then followed by a 50 Cent and Floyd Mayweather endorsement for a boxing match between Breezy and Soulja Boy.
However, put the possibility of a boxing match aside and look at the true issue here: the digressing human race blaming their personal issues on their mothers.
Soulja Boy justifying his actions by the illness of his mother is similar to the Kanye West concert outbursts we saw in 2016. It’s unacceptable. Yeezy and Soulja Boy both have their respective fan bases, but instead of Kanye going through with his performances or even Soulja initially asking for prayers, they blame their mothers for their ill behavior.
I’m not one who buys into it. Kanye West should have not scheduled any tour dates during the time of his outbursts knowing it was his most vulnerable time of year when he would be affected by the death of his mother.
Soulja Boy, currently an irrelevant rapper who gladly invites conflicting attention, continues to find ways to devalue his name by making a fool of himself. You don’t disrespect another person’s family, nor do you blame momma for your actions. But since Soulja Boy brought light to the situation, he basically wants to fight Chris Brown because his mother is sick.
This potential fight is Soulja Boy’s cry for help. What he doesn’t realize is that regardless of the outcome, he’ll still remain as the same hopeless, attention-seeking, ass-kissing individual. In the words of Soulja Boy: “no amount of money, no amount of cars, no amount of fame will make me be alright knowing my mom is sick or anything happening to my momma.” Unfortunately, your momma may still be sick after this fight. So why have the fight at all, Soulja?
