88Rising is a record label, video production, and marketing company that specializes in upbringing Asians and Asian-Americans in music. Founder Sean Miyashiro put together a lineup of artists for Hip Hop, R&B, and Alternative music lovers between Rich Brian, Joji, Keith Ape, NIKI, Higher Brothers, Kohh, August 08, and Don Krez.
During the early stages of summer 2018, Miyashiro released “midsummer madness“, a label-wide collaborative track that enforce you to seize the moment, which embedded the idea that a joint project will be in the works. Today (July 11), 88Rising’s Twitter account conveyed the release date for the aforementioned project Head in The Clouds, slated to drop on July 20 aka the middle of summer.

No tracklist or features have been released, however, the cover imagines the entire 88Rising squad will be mixed and matched on the project. I haven’t been this excited since Young Money dropped their collaborative album We Are Young Money (2009).
88Rising will start their 88 Degrees & Rising tour following summer, beginning in Los Angeles with a special Head in the Clouds Music & Arts Festival on September 22nd at Los Angeles State and Historic Park.
