Coachella 2018 Spotlight: Whethan

Ethan Snoreck, better known by his DJ alias Whethan (previously stylized as Wheathin) cued his way to Coachella 2018. The Chicago-based DJ is fresh out of high school and used an everyday technological tool to build himself from the ground.

Similar to Steve Lacy, Whethan began his career using Garageband on his with the iPad. During his tour with The Chainsmokers he took a short break to attend his high school graduation. At 16 he was the youngest producer to have a released record on the Australian EDM label, Future Classic, who’s released records for Flume, Chet Faker, Hayden James and many other artists.

The 18-year-old has notably toured with artists like Flosstradamus, Slushii, Gent & Jawns, and Chance’s indie-mate Towkio. Most notably, he was featured on the 50 Shades Freed soundtrack on “High” with Dua Lipa.
