What’s more childish than Twitter beef especially when you know you really can’t compete? Wendy’s solidified that they’re one step ahead of all other fast food chains by dropping a mixtape called We Beefin?
Earlier this week the fast food restaurant tweeted the possibility of a mixtape to drop on Friday, March 24. They came through with the delivery. We Beefin? is a 5-track mixtape that takes shots at McDonald’s for their broken ice cream machines, and Burger King for biting Wendy’s menu.
The so-called “beef” cooked up when Wendy’s Wendy’s Twitter account holder fired at McDonald’s failed Black Friday tweet. The fast food joints continued to troll each other periodically, but it’s safe to say that Wendy’s won this battle, especially by using the world’s greatest marketing tool: hip hop.
Twitter users discussed the mixtape and approached different sides to the presentation. Some appreciated the mixtape, others want a feature, and some took to cultural appropriation.

.@Wendys using black culture to create a personality and a white girl for the visual branding is the most American thing ever.

You be the judge. With the voice of Wendy over every record, it’ll take you no less than 10 minutes to listen to the entire project. However with the release this mixtape, it’ll probably take a couple rotations if you decide to go to a Wendy’s drive-thru. Indulge.
