“Treasure Island” by Lord Morgan | Paradise to the 90s

Summer is almost coming to an end, meaning booking vacations and traveling may have to wait another couple of months. However, when rap artists can translate their paradise being right under their roof to you, it’s unavoidable to feel like you’re alongside them in that same paradise.

In preparation for his third LP Under My Roof, Lord Morgan returns with a second single “Treasure Island”, where he books a ticket to a 90s island paradise for his listeners. Produced by EyyEll, the single is reminiscent of “Baby If You Give It To Me” by Busta Rhymes featuring Mariah Carey.

“Baby if you give it to me, I’ll give it to you/I’ll bust a rhyme if you incline, don’t you/Trust in my mind, won’t you”

Similar to his first Under My Roof single “More Important Than Varsity”, the Bay Area native spits with an East Coast sentiment in this fantasy love story with the woman of his dreams. Ironically, Treasure Island is an actual island in the Bay Area, which implies the self-titled Chandon Killa may have met this dreamy woman on that same island.

Nonetheless, “Treasure Island” is a hint of gold compared to what’s in store for his upcoming project, which is set to release on Friday, July 29th. He’ll surely be taking us beyond the precinct of his roof. Stay tuned for more on Lord Morgan.
