The rapper turnt singer, is not a singer turnt wrapper. T-Pain partners with technological architects known as Moxie to bring you ‘rapping’ paper that actually raps back to you!
It took me only five steps to make this Christmas season the most memorable:
- Print the paper
- Tape the gift wrap together
- Download the Rap App
- Scan the paper with a smart phone
- Listen to the music
One question I’ve been getting a lot is: “But where do I get the actual wrapping paper material?” Unfortunately, unless you have blank wrapping paper that can print out of the printer, you won’t be able to have the design on actual wrapping paper. I ended up using printer paper and printed about 9 sheets, which filled a medium-sized box.
Although the most tedious part was cutting and taping together the pieces of paper, it was satisfying to see this creation wrapped onto my gifts and having T-Pain sing a rendition to “Jingle Bells”. The jingle lasted around a minute and a half long, and other characters on the paper from a snowman, gingerbread man and more, danced to the song as soon as I flashed the app over the paper.
Hopefully Moxie will be able to integrate more hip hop/R&B artists onto their rapping paper for the future. We already have Christmas Hip Hop songs like “Christmas in Hollis” by Run DMC, or most recently a rendition to “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” by DMX, so having those records on Moxie’s technology would further solidify their timelessness.
