“At 3:48 a.m. a female called 911 to report that she was sexually assaulted by a male, who is known as the rapper ‘Nelly’,” announced Auburn Police Department in a press release.
“The alleged assault was reported to occur on the tour bus that was parked at the listed location. Nelly had performed at the White River Amphitheater just hours before.”

After the phone call took place, Nelly was booked on second degree rape charges by law enforcement at around 7:00 AM. The rapper is currently touring with country artists Florida Georgia Line and was about to take the stage in Ridgefield, WA before the alleged scandal took place.

Police said Nelly had performed at the White River Amphitheater in King County just hours before the phone call was made and was later arrested “after patrol officers investigated the incident,” according to the report.

After being let out, Nelly decided to use Twitter as a platform to try and clear his name. The rapper tweeted Saturday afternoon that he is “completely innocent,” along with a strand of other tweets about the incident.

Nelly wanted his fans to know that he is blown away by the allegations made in order to jeopardize him and his name so he wanted to apologize to fans and loved ones.

Later, Nelly’s lawyer talked to TMZ where he stated the charges were false and also, “Nelly is the victim of a completely fabricated allegation. Our initial investigation, clearly establishes the allegation is devoid of credibility and is motivated by greed and vindictiveness. I am confident, once the scurrilous accusation is thoroughly investigated, there will be no charges.” He continued saying tNelly will not let this go unpunished, adding, “Nelly is prepared to pursue all all legal avenues to redress any damage caused by this clearly false allegation.”

The news comes as such a shock that rAkon decided to join in on the issue and support Nelly over Twitter:

The Convict Music rapper wanted to send care for Nelly over Twitter to back him up after these charges have surfaced all over social media. A simple “Stay strong” is what he left for the rapper in hopes to possibly give him some courage in overcoming this battle.

Only time will tell if these allegations made against Nelly are in fact true or false but for now Nelly doesn’t seem to be giving up hope on clearing his name.
