‘Violaceae’ is the latest of the singles and is arguably the best one yet. With strong synths, bass and drums, the track gives off heavy neo-soul feels, bringing names like The Internet or NxWorries to mind. Her soft vocals float through the track, giving it her trademark otherworldly sound.
‘Violaceae’ is a departure from her last album Closure which was more of an experimental hip-hop project dealing with a personal time in the rapper’s life. If Closure was the platform for Hannah to establish herself as a formidable rapper and strong lyricist, then ‘Violaceae’ is the track that proves her talent as an inventive producer.
Seeing this amount of versatility from Hannah hints at what listeners can expect from Blossom; something soulful and soothing. A follow up to the emotional aftermath of Closure, ‘Violaceae’ is our introduction to Hannah utterly at peace and blooming as an artist, just like the track’s namesake.
