Eyyell Interview | SF Producer/Rapper Tables New Sound in the Bay Area

When you think of Bay Area hip-hop you’d probably expect a club banger meant to entice hyperactivity or as they call it, ‘hyphy.’ However, emerging from the Yay’s underground hip-hop scene comes a rebirth of the Hyphy Movement which keeps the same energy portrayed with more social consciousness. As a homegrown artist who plays both the producer and rapper, Eyyell surfaces as one of the few who is on board with the reincarnated Hyphy Movement.

The San Francisco native partnered with his long-time friend Lord Morgan. Essentially, the duo collaborate on projects – including their 2016 album Under My Roof – to tell stories of their aspirations, survival methods, and personal exertions into song. Carrying the momentum from their last LP, Eyyell explained life under his roof and shared unreleased tracks off his 2017 project Vibration is Player in our interview below.
