The super-producer known as Dem Jointz is expanding his artistry. The 3x GRAMMY-nominated producer who produced four tracks on Dr. Dre’s Compton album, Ceraadi’s 2017 hit single “We In Here“, and for more stellar artists like Anderson .Paak and Janet Jackson, showcases his vocal range on “LAWZ“.
As a native of Compton, Dem Jointz materializes his viewpoint on police brutality. Though N.W.A. made “F*ck the Police” in 1988, violence and racism still exists to this day, and “LAWZ” is considered as a reminder in 2018 as Jointz screams: “Fuck you and your laws, cus who follows them anyway?”.
Jointz proves that his artistry is beyond meshing notes together in his digital audio workstation. In 2017, he peeped his singing abilities on SpiffyUNO’s standout single “L.A. Streets” (on his debut album South Central LP), which surprised many who were unaware of the super-producer’s bars. Also, with the help of director Pat Kudej, Jointz was able to visually tell his story when faced with racism and police brutality.
“LAWZ” is featured on Dem Jointz’ forthcoming project DEM-A-GOD, slated to release in 2018.
