Cardi announced her split from Love & Hip Hop in December to focus on her career as a rapper after the success of her album, Gangsta Bitch Music Vol. 1. The trap-heavy album showed Cardi’s strengths as a rapper and proved that she’s got mad bars, making it no surprise that Atlantic Records offered her a multi-million dollar deal following the release of Gangsta Bitch Music Vol. 2.
Signing with Atlantic is a huge move for the former stripper turned reality TV star. Her future projects will be released alongside those of label mates Wiz Khalifa and Ty Dolla Sign. Getting signed to a major label is going to be a game changer for the Bronx native, boosting her credibility as a rapper who can hold her own alongside other female rappers like Nicki Minaj and Young M.A.
Recently tapped by 2 Chainz to curate his Pretty Girls Like Trap Music playlist, Cardi B is going to keep fans guessing what her next move will be. In the meantime, catch Gangsta Bitch Music Vol. 2 out now. Peep her Pretty Girls Like Trap Music mix below:
